People keep saying, keep talking about themselves
Explaining who they are, extending out some helps
To make an image, is the motive behind
That image makes everyone call them fine
But this sugar coated image is not gonna last
As sights are changing into vision real fast
What the world perceives is Virtuality
Invert it to uncover the true Reality
The man you see before you,
is not as good as he seems to be
The image he has made is Virtual,
he's celebrating hypocrisy.
...Wrote this in 2001, when i was in school... The mindset was different then, but the meaning still holds good today.

The Hands that Save lives, cant even save a penny for themselves...
The Hands that treat the ill and save a million lives are also the hands that feed two square meals a day to the person they belong.. Indeed, a Doctor too is a human with the same anatomy and same physiological needs as any other.. While the earth continues to revolve and the cost of living keeps going up, one thing does not seem to be changing at all.. And that is the Stipend given to the Housesurgeons (C.R.R.I.) and Post Graduate students in the Medical colleges in Tamil Nadu.
It appears to the common man that doctors always earn big and lead the big life.. eat this - a House-surgeon (MBBS Grad) in a Tamil Nadu medical college hospital gets Rs. 4500 per month for endless hours of tiring duty in the hospital.. A Post Grad student who has gained entry after cracking a real tough entrance exam, and is already a doctor, doing specialisation, gets Rs. 8000 per month.. This is not the 1980s we are talking about here.. Wake up guys, its 2009!
Look around and you will come to know that the average stipend for house-surgeons in most of the states in India is around Rs.8000-9000. That for Post Grads is no less than Rs.20000-25000.
In the state-wise list of stipend paid to house-surgeons, West Bengal tops with Rs. 12180 per month. In the list for Post grads, AIIMS tops at Rs.49000 per month.
From the setting up of a BMW factory to the development of the next largest IT Highway in the country, Tamil Nadu is doing it all.. Chennai is already the Detroit of India with all Automobile majors planning to open a manufacturing unit here. Known for its cutting edge Medical facilities and Medical Tourism, its quite an irony that the medicos in Chennai are the most ill-paid in the country.
As if this was not enough, the Health Minister of the state makes this statement in a leading national daily - "Tamil Nadu is one of the best pay masters in the country" - article dated 17th June, 2009. Get your Facts right sir, before making such statements, because the truth is quite on the contrary.
Silence has always been mistaken for weakness.. Its high time that the doctors rise up and seriously demand what they deserve. People should know what a duty doctor goes through everyday, and what he gets in return.
